How often have you felt adrift, when the light of day no longer seems to matter? You float in a haze, the space feels blurry and undefined. In those moments, even familiar surroundings seem foreign, and isolation begins to press in from all sides.

לְבַד (pronounced “leh-vahd”) is a Hebrew word meaning “alone.” לְבַד explores the emotional complexities of dealing with personal trauma, drawing from childhood memories and challenging family dynamics. Through portraiture, I confronted myself in my most intimate and solitary moments, reaching out to reveal what lies beneath the surface—what is invisible to others but vivid in my mind. This project delves into the complex notions of Self in relation to Home, exploring and expressing the isolation that continues to challenge me till today, in search of belonging.

By sharing this work, I hope to foster a shared understanding of the emotions tied to human connections, and to encourage empathy and dialogue around the nature of meaningful relationships with our loved ones and toward ourselves.
